Establishment of Atlantic County Communities Stigma Free & HOPE ONE Project

Sheriff Eric Scheffler is proud to announce that the Atlantic County Board of Chosen Freeholders has passed a resolution supporting the establishment of Atlantic County Communities Stigma Free & HOPE ONE Project. The initiative aims to help eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness and substance abuse disorders.

The Atlantic County HOPE ONE Mobile Unit will be operated by the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office in partnership with Atlantic County Department of Huma...n Services, the Mental Health Association of Atlantic County and AtlantiCare.

The HOPE ONE Team will provide individuals struggling with opiate addiction access to :

1. Detox, rehab or recovery support
2. Mental health services
3. Housing assistance
4. Transportation to treatment facilities
5. Narcan and overdose response training
