Transportation Unit

The Transportation Unit provides secure prisoner escort services for prisoners held or wanted in Atlantic County. Officer’s duties may include secure movement of prisoners from the County Jail or to or from all New Jersey jurisdictions and surrounding state jurisdictions. The Transportation Unit also provides prisoner transport services for Atlantic County Municipal Police Departments. The primary responsibility of the Transportation Unit is the movement of Atlantic County Inmates/Prisoners to other correctional institutions, area hospitals, psychiatric facilities and other County or Municipal Courts. The Transportation Unit assists during raids and periods of civil disturbance. Team members are recognized for their professionalism and experience in the movement of large numbers of prisoners.
