911 Cell Phone Bank

The Atlantic County Sheriff's Office has teamed up with the 911 Cell Phone Bank to protect seniors and domestic violence victims through cell phone collections. Through participation in this partnership we will raise funds for our K9 program and receive free emergency cell phones to distribute to those in need.

Under the agreement the Sheriff's Office will collect used cell phones in the community from individuals, businesses, and organizations, and then send them to the 911 Cell Phone Bank for processing. The 911 Cell Phone Bank will provide us with free emergency 911 phones, as well as, the cash value of the cell phones.

Residents and businesses in Atlantic County who have unused cell phones are encouraged to drop them off at the Atlantic County Civil Courthouse in Atlantic City or the Atlantic County Criminal Court Complex in Mays Landing. Cell phone stores especially are encouraged to ask their customers to donate their old cell phones to benefit the cause.

The 911 Cell Phone Bank is an initiative of The Charitable Recycling Foundation, Inc. an organization dedicated to converting idle assets, like cell phones, for use toward the public good. Through its website www.911CellPhoneBank.org and collection sites nationwide the organization facilitates cell phone donations from businesses and consumers.
